Our nursing team run childhood vaccination clinics most weeks. Vaccines protect your child from serious, life threatening infectious illnesses.
As a society we are well protected by vaccines. In times past many people were infirmed or killed by these infections. There is now scant living memory of the devastation caused by these infections before the introduction of vaccines. When was the last time you encountered a suvivor of Polio? The vaccines used in the NHS immunisation schedule are safe and effective. Vaccines have saved millions of lives over the last two hundred years. Be reassured, there is no evidence of any link between MMR and autism. Read National Autism Society's view on the matter here. For a general overview of the MMR vaccine read the Public Health England info sheet here. |
