Claire trained as a registered nurse at Bristol Royal Infirmary.
After having her family she returned to work in the NHS in an administrative role for several years in primary care before joining Pioneer as Care Coordinator.
Claire has been instrumental in the implementation of our community volunteer driver scheme. Thanks to her kind work we are able to put patients in touch with a volunteer driver to bring them in to the surgery if they have no transport.
Emma trained as a paramedic with the London Ambulance Service working in emergency medicine, minor injury and minor illness.
After 11 years of service Emma now works as an Urgent Care Clinician working within the Urgent Care team at Pioneer. She works on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
She can assess housebound patients across our 3 sites in their home and works closely with each patient's usual GP (or the duty GP for that day) and the community nursing team. She is often able to visit earlier in the day than would be possible for a visiting GP.
She also has on the day appointments for minor illness and minor injuries: coughs, colds, fevers, ear / throat / chest and urinary infections, skin problems, allergies, abdominal pain, joint injuries and sprains.
Emma is not currently trained to manage women's health or contraception.
Jerry has worked as a Paramedic for 17 years across the South Central region, most recently working as a Specialist Paramedic / Emergency Care Practitioner at two GP practices in Berkshire, providing clinic support at a drop in centre for the homeless and a frailty service for elderly patients.
He has a keen interest in environmental issues, having worked with Friends of the Earth, editing their international newsletter.
He also enjoys getting out into the open countryside for long, long walks, building up his vintage vinyl collection, enjoying local concerts and cooking.
