How do I request my repeat prescription?

Repeat medications take two working days to process. This may seem like a long time but please remember that we get thousands of medication requests every week. For safety reasons we are not able to process medication requests urgently (with the exception of a few medications such as insulin and certain heart medications).  All other requests will be processed in 2 working days. This includes painkillers and antidepressants. Please ensure you leave enough time for your request to be processed and consider ordering 7 days in advance.

The practice offers a variety of ways to order your repeat prescriptions

  • The best way is using Online Access - via the NHS App or Patient Access. Your request lands directly into the clinicians workflow for priority processing - usually the same day it is submitted.
  • Second best is with our Online contact tool

Alternative methods include:
  • From your pharmacy
  • By placing your request in the prescription box located at reception
  • By post: Prescription Clerk, Bradgate Surgery, Ardenton Walk, Brentry, Bristol, BS10 6SP
  • In person at reception
  • by email - pmg@nhs.net

Please note we will not accept requests for medications over the phone. The Medical Protection Society, who protect and support our clinicians with advice on safe practice, instructs that we do not accept ordering of prescriptions over the telephone.
